Greetings and welcome to Canine's Tale! My name is Nina, and I'm thrilled to be the proud owner of this wonderful venture. For as long as I can remember, I've had a deep desire to have a furry companion by my side.
A little bit about me: I recently completed my Master's degree in Teaching at QUT, and currently, I'm engaged in relief teaching in Brisbane.
Several years ago, I harboured a passion for starting a business centred around dog accessories. However, I faced the challenge of not having a dog to help me showcase the products. After persistently expressing my longing for a puppy for several years, my amazing fiancé surprised me with a precious Pomeranian, Coffee in 2020.
Allow me to introduce our esteemed mascots and CEOs—Coffee and Saki. These delightful furbabies embody the spirit and essence of Canine's Tale, bringing an extra touch of charm and character to our products and brand.

Why did you start this business?
Reason 1 Behind Starting Canine's Tale
The inspiration for launching this business stems from my desire to find quality designs that truly suited my beloved Coffee. Yes, he's quite a pampered little fluffball. I used to browse through stores, hoping to stumble upon costumes that would look adorable on him.
However, practicality became a concern as Coffee is an energetic ball of fur who once managed to escape when a flimsy harness snapped.
I found myself drawn to metal side-release buckles on Coffee's accessories because of their durability and elegant aesthetic. Unfortunately, such options were hard to come by and often came with a hefty price tag. It was then that I made up my mind to offer these features through Canine's Tale.
Reason 2 Behind Starting Canine's Tale
Another driving force behind establishing this business was my earnest desire to assist animal rescues that desperately needed financial support for crucial surgeries. Witnessing the plight of dogs abandoned by their owners or subjected to mistreatment and requiring extensive medical attention filled me with empathy and a strong sense of responsibility.
In early 2021, Coffee's distressing cries led us to discover that he had luxating patellas and required surgery to alleviate his pain. However, as a recent graduate, I found myself unable to afford the hefty $6,000 cost for his knee surgeries. Despite reaching out on my Facebook and various online groups, my plea for help was met with negativity, except for the kind-hearted individuals who made a few generous donations and recommended an affordable alternative from another veterinarian.
Fortunately, Coffee's condition improved without surgery, and we utilized the donated funds for hydrotherapy sessions. You can find the details of our plea on Coffee's GoFundMe page. Although we initially documented Coffee's recovery on Instagram, the account was unfortunately hacked, leaving us unable to retrieve the valuable content.
What Sets Canine's Tale Apart?
Canine's Tale goes beyond being a mere business. It serves as a platform to share the tales of our dogs and, in time, the tales of our community's dogs as well. Our journey begins by introducing Coffee, Saki, and the stories of two endearing characters commonly encountered in a dog's life: Bees and Soulmates.
These tales are depicted through our range of products, including adjustable air mesh harnesses, padded collars, leashes, poop bag holders, bow ties, bandanas, and occasionally, our step-in Y harnesses (all equipped with metal side-release buckles!).
At Canine's Tale, it's not just about the products; it's about celebrating and sharing the extraordinary narratives that shape the lives of our furry companions and creating a supportive community that embraces the beauty of these tales.

Our Goals
Reputation
Our goal is that you and your pups feel assured when using our products when taking them out for a walk without worrying.
This goal would mean that we have a reputation to gain our customers' trusts and provide our customers with great quality dog walking accessories.
Helping Animal Rescues
Our main goal is to help dogs who does not have a home to go to or cannot afford surgeries. We'd love to help out charities and rescue organisation through donations in the future.
Once we develop a reputation and some funds, we will begin our search for animal rescue organisations who may like our donations.
Product Donations
Quite similar to helping organisations, we'd love to donate some of our products to animal rescue organisations or they can decide what they'd want to do with our products.
This is to enable the organisation to have more control as if they decide to auction and 100% of the sold price will go to them.
Our Promise
Quality
We ensure the quality of our product are met to your standards by using strong durable materials such as metal-plated buckles and adjust so it won’t easily snap off when walking or buckling your dog and Neoprene padding to bring comfort on your dog's neck and your hands.
Please note that just because it is more durable, it doesn't mean it is indestructible.
Our Honesty
Building a relationship of trust is our key component in Canine's Tale. We at least triple check our products and take the bad ones off before it gets to your hand.
If we feel like some of our products doesn't meet our standards, we will be honest in the product description and reduce its price.
We will do our best to make sure you feel safe shopping with us.
Unique Designs
We started with our designs based on our dogs' tales.
Starting from our limited-edition Saki & Coffee followed by some of the most common occurrences in other dogs like an experience with bees, and also a time when we lost our most beloved dogs, who once saw us as their soulmates.
Dedication
No matter how bad life hits us, we won't give up our on our goals.
We will continue to run our business and do what we can to not let any obstacles stop us from our dreams.
